    Fort Collins Gifts Catholic Charities

Fort Collins Chapter spent two weekends, Sept. 30, Oct.1, Oct.7 and Oct.8, re-landscaping the property at Catholic Charities.  The goal was to eliminate a big portion of the grass, replacing with rock and xeriscape plants.  This will help Catholic Charities decrease their overall maintenance cost as well as time.   Weed barrier was placed in the front as well as the side of the building and xeriscape planting occurred.  65 tons of rock were laid, 5 boulders were placed in the front of the building, the sprinkler system was modified and a flagstone pathway was created.

Parts of the camp are on the historical registry as the camp started in the early 1909's as a Tuberculosis medical camp. We fixed a drainage pipe for the gravel road and made the area around the historical entrance to the camp into a garden and useful sitting area with new landscaping and benches for the campers.
