    YMSL Wildcat Chapter Working Hard!

    The Wildcat Chapter of Young Mens Service League (YMSL) had a very busy summer volunteering! Our boys and moms spent many hours with hammers, nails, paint and muscles helping build the "House on the Corner" at Christ United Methodist Church. In addition to working with "House on the Corner", our members joined with others from Custer Road UMC to serve nutritious lunches to economically disadvantaged children and their parents in the Plano area during the summer months.

    Milton Chapter Logs 5,500 Volunteer Hours!

    The Milton chapter ended the 2013-2014 school year with 5,500 hours of community service! This chapter was founded in 2011 and has 226 members. Michelle Boyea, chapter president, said the league logged volunteer hours with 15 different agencies, including the Atlanta Canine Adoption Project, the Child Development Association, Milton's Earth Day celebration and Meals on Wheels. In addition to these charities members supplied school supplies for kindergartners, held clothing drives, and found forever homes for abandoned dogs.

    A YMSL Mom Making Memories With Her 3 Sons...

    Shannon and her 3 sons are part of the YMSL Highland Park Chapter. Shannon and her eldest son, Hunter, were founding members of their Highland Park chapter Hunter's freshman year. This year is already a special one to remember as Shannon has all three of her boys in high school and YMSL at the same time! The four of them enjoy working together and giving back to the community through all of the philanthropies in YMSL. Hunter is a Senior, Carter, a Junior, and Andrew is a Freshman.

    Philanthropy Fair

    Legacy YMSL held an amazing Philanthropy Fair this past Sunday! We had 22 philanthropies represented at individual tables. The boys were given a "scavenger Hunt" card that asked specific questions about each philanthropy. We had a wonderful turn out of boys and mom's. This was a great learning opportunity for all =)

    Plano Chapter Serves at Rainbow Days Back-to-School Event!

     

    The Plano Chapter had a great time volunteering at the Rainbow Days Back-to-School celebration on August 20th! YMSL boys and moms helped man the game booths, serve food, and most importantly distribute backpacks filled with grade appropriate school supplies and uniforms. The celebration benefitted school-age children from high risk situations in the Dallas area.

    TAYLOR HOOTON FOUNDATION PRESENTS AT ALPHARETTA HIGH SCHOOL

    Boys receive a check. Alpharetta, GA  (August 17, 2014) – This afternoon at Alpharetta High School, several hundred members of the Alpharetta, Centennial, Milton and North Fulton chapters of the Young Men’s Service League learned about the dangers of appearance and performance enhancing drug use.

    Happy 4th of July!

    What a morning our YMSLVO boys had greeting World War II Veterans through "Honor Flight" at Dulles Airport! It was such a privilege to shake their hand, give them a hug, and thank them for their service!!!

    Hoot's Chalk Talk

    On January 26th, YMSL National hosted our first Boys’ program for all the Dallas area chapters! It was a special presentation by the Taylor Hooton Foundation, an organization whose mission is to raise awareness about the dangers of steroid and performance enhancing drug use.  The foundation presented “Hoot’s Chalk Talk” which described the perils of steroid and performance enhancing drugs and the volumes of both male and female youth and young adults who are taking these drugs without knowledge of the great dangers that they can provide.
