    North San Antonio's Ultimate Gift Event

    Our North San Antonio YMSL Chapter chose to assist Alpha Home in their 2014 Ultimate Gift project. The mission of Alpha Home is to provide spiritually based substance abuse treatment and support to women and their families to prepare them to become more productive members of society.

    Plano Chapter Completes an "Extreme Makeover" of Hope's Door

    For their 2014 Ultimate Gift project the Plano Chapter chose to lend a hand to Hope's Door. They had an incredible turn out of a total of 91 moms and sons who logged in 307 volunteer hours over 2 days! Specifcally the Plano Chapter helped Hope's Door by making repairs, cleaning, painting, decorating, and landscaping the home. In addition to working on the home itself, the Plano Chater was also able to provide two hot meals for the twent two clients that currently housed there. Way to go Plano Chapter!

    Way to go Lake Travis Chapter!

    Lake Travis Chapter Highlights Grade-Level Philanthropies

    Each class of the Lake Travis chapter has spent the past several months planning and participating in their grade-level philanthropies.

    Our freshman went to the Grace House and played bingo with the residents. The Grace House of Lake Travis is an assisted-living community that offers many activities to help residents maintain healthy lifestyles by encouraging movement and socializing. The boys had a great time and really made the day nicer for the Grace House residents.

    Redwood Chapter Completes Their First Ever Ultimate Gift Event!

    The Redwood Chapter in Northern CA, participated in their first Ultimate Gift project. Their Chapter worked hard to help out a local school in need. Some of the projects their chapter completed to help out the school were purchasing, cleaning and installing "recycled" lockers, setting up a changing rod and benches, renovating a book room and painting the boys/girls locker rooms. The weekenf was a huge success and a great experience for everyone!

    McKinney Chapter 2014 Ultimate Gift

     

    2014 Ultimate Gift!

    The McKinney, Texas chapter of Young Men’s Service League planned, funded, and executed their Ultimate Gift project this year on October 25th, 2014 at the Boys & Girls Club of McKinney.  The project included raising over $3200 in total for many things at the Club including: 

    1) New shelving was purchased and installed at the Club with the addition of nearly $400 of new board games for the kids at the facility.

    YMSL Wildcat Chapter Working Hard!

    The Wildcat Chapter of Young Mens Service League (YMSL) had a very busy summer volunteering! Our boys and moms spent many hours with hammers, nails, paint and muscles helping build the "House on the Corner" at Christ United Methodist Church. In addition to working with "House on the Corner", our members joined with others from Custer Road UMC to serve nutritious lunches to economically disadvantaged children and their parents in the Plano area during the summer months.

    Milton Chapter Logs 5,500 Volunteer Hours!

    The Milton chapter ended the 2013-2014 school year with 5,500 hours of community service! This chapter was founded in 2011 and has 226 members. Michelle Boyea, chapter president, said the league logged volunteer hours with 15 different agencies, including the Atlanta Canine Adoption Project, the Child Development Association, Milton's Earth Day celebration and Meals on Wheels. In addition to these charities members supplied school supplies for kindergartners, held clothing drives, and found forever homes for abandoned dogs.

    A YMSL Mom Making Memories With Her 3 Sons...

    Shannon and her 3 sons are part of the YMSL Highland Park Chapter. Shannon and her eldest son, Hunter, were founding members of their Highland Park chapter Hunter's freshman year. This year is already a special one to remember as Shannon has all three of her boys in high school and YMSL at the same time! The four of them enjoy working together and giving back to the community through all of the philanthropies in YMSL. Hunter is a Senior, Carter, a Junior, and Andrew is a Freshman.
