The Southlake YMSL Chapter was honored to partner with Spokes4Hope for our 2016 Ultimate Gift Project.

Spokes4Hope works with children's advocacy centers across Texas and their dedicated groups of child abuse care providers to provide bicycles to children whose families could not otherwise afford one, or by providing an adaptive bicycle to children with special needs and physical disabilities.

Spokes4Hope meets a need in our community in a very tangible way.  Some children are able to experience for the first time riding a bicycle…a very essential and enjoyable play skill...as a result of receiving a bicycle through this program!

The Southlake Chapter assembled 100 bicycles from start to finish!  Moms worked with their sons to put bicycles together, fill the tires with air, complete quality control checks, and finish with a personalized handwritten gift tag.  The following weekend, several members participated in the Spokes4Hope giveaway event at Cabela's in Fort Worth where Santa arrived in his very own helicopter to give bicycles away with local police officers!

The Ultimate Gift Event was a special opportunity, and the smiles on the childrens’ faces at the giveaway revealed the great impact that a heart for service and a bicycle can have on a family.
