The Wildcat Chapter spent a couple weekends updating Hope's Door women/childrens shelter. Hope’s Door is an organization in Collin County that offers intervention and prevention services to individuals and families affected by domestic violence. The weather changed the plans a bit and some of the outside work was pushed back but the inside of the home was transformed. A railing was added to the front porch, painting was done throughout the house, new furniture was built and set up, new rugs, curtains etc. were added. The therapy room was updated and new blinds were hung. A stainless steel backsplash was added to the kitchen and the house was scrubbed from grout to ceiling. The Chapter bought new dishes for the kitchen as well. When the weather cleared the following weekend, Wildcat Chapter cleaned the outside of the home, planted a meditation garden, and the senior boys came back and painted the benches outside on a third weekend. Both the organization and the residents were thrilled with the transformation.
